Mark your calendar for New Graduate Student Orientation on January 15, 2010. On site check in and registration begins at 8:15 am, with the program starting at 9:00 am in Rudder Theatre. At 10:45 am, students and staff will walk to the Rec Center Archery Room for the resource fair and lunch. Online registration will begin in December 2009.

Graduate Students Earn Top Honors At National Conference

Two Texas A&M University graduate students, Christopher Cheleuitte-Nieves and Alejandro Bugarin, earned top honors for their oral presentations at the 2009 Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Conference. They were chosen from more than 2,700 student participants for their outstanding original research and presentation skills. Intenational Student Services Adds Travel Signature Session on December 2

International Student Services (ISS) has scheduled travel signature and visa letter sessions around campus for students who are traveling this semester. A third travel signature day session will be held on December 2nd in Rudder Tower, room 301. Students who are planning to travel outside of the U.S. and who currently have an I-20 or DS-2019 re-entry signature endorsement expiring within the next 3 months or less must have their documents signed before their travel begins. The DHS Summer Research Team Program for Minority Serving Institutions provides research opportunities to increase and enhance the scientific leadership at Minority Serving Institutions in research areas that support the mission and goals of DHS.
