Out-of-State Tuition Waiver

Tuition Waiver Forms must be submitted for each term.  Waivers will only be entered one semester at a time. 
 
To qualify for an Out-of-State Tuition Waiver, the following rules must be met:
  • 9 semester hours in each Fall and Spring semester
  • For Summer sessions, see the chart (PDF).
  • Tuition waiver must be turned in to the office of Graduate Studies before the 12th class day of Fall and Spring semesters and 4th class day of the Summer semester. All graduate students must be working in their obtained positions by the 12th class day of the regular semester and the 4th class day of the Summer semester. A paper copy of the payroll action document verifying employment in an eligible title code is required to be submitted with ALL Summer tuition payment and tuition waiver requests effective immediately (6/16/08). If available, a copy of the payroll action document can be submitted for Fall and Spring tuition payment and tuition waiver requests to expedite processing.
  • Full course waiver does not meet requirements for an Out-of-State Tution Waiver.


Graduate Assistants (GAT, GAR, GANT & GAL) employed in non-academic departments:
Fill out and print the form.
Take the form to your graduate advisor for verification and signature.
Take the form to the employing department head or center director for verification and signature.
Bring the completed form to the Office of Graduate Studies for verification and approval by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
Once approved, OGS will enter the waiver in SIMS.


Graduate Assistants (GAT, GAR, GANT & GAL) employed in an academic department:
Graduate Assistants employed either in their home department or another academic department, should have waiver entered by the employer or home department.
